38th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction Set to Delight Community

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Carr Center is busy putting the finishing touches on one of the community’s most celebrated events.

Tuesday, people were getting their first peaks at some of the elaborate cakes on display for the 38th Annual Cake Auction at the Colony Square Mall.

Katie Graham, Executive Director of the Carr Center, said some of the incentives this year include tickets to many different sporting events, hotel stays and even a trip to the beach.

She also said it feels great to be hosting the Cake Auction back at the Mall this year.

“It honestly kind of feels like second nature,” Graham said. “It feels good, it feels nice to be back, we already have had so many people walking around and looking at the cakes. It just feels good.”

This is Graham’s first year hosting the Cake Auction as the Executive Director and that could be a daunting task for some, but she says she couldn’t be more excited.

“I’m ready and I’m excited,” Graham said. “I’m ready to get it going, we have worked so hard the last couple of months on this and I think we’re ready.”

The Carr Center’s 38th Annual Cake Auction will run from 9AM to 5PM this Wednesday and Thursday. If you can’t make it to the Mall in person, you can tune into our radio station AM1240, 102.3FM or listen live from our website whiznews.com.
