4th Annual Fishing with Santa tournament was a success

EAST FULTONHAM, OH- Shawn Ballard alongside her husband and friends hosted their 4th Annual Fishing with Santa tournament today on Lake Isabella to help raise proceeds to provide Christmas for children.
Their first year they were able to provide Christmas for seven children and by last year they increased that number to 30. They hope to help even more children this year.
“We got the idea during Covid, we had a group of friends, and we all went fishing, and we went back to my house, we were all sitting around eating and we just decided that we wanted to raise money for people that were effected by Covid, so we started raising money and adopting kids,” said Ballard.
The tournament was open to the public and sold out with a total number of 33 boats on the water. In addition to fishing there was also a 50/50 drawing and an auction where guests could win donated items like an electric garage opener with free installation, handbags, a 7-depth finder, clothes, fishing poles and more. Those who participate are provided with food and drinks.
“I would like to also thank my husband for his hard work and determination to make this a success, and all of our sponsors, everybody has been amazing, and we really appreciate all of ya,” said Ballard.
Fishing with Santa plans to return in 2025. If you are interested in participating or donating items, you can reach out to Ballard at 740-704-7436 or on the Facebook group Fishing with Santa.
