5-year-old Hit by Car

Anitera Sharrer, 5, of Zanesville was struck by an oncoming Ford 150 shortly after 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Her father, Aaron Sharrer said Anitera was crossing Luck Avenue just south of Dryden Road. Sharrer also said, it appeared that the driver of the truck strongly applied the brakes. Zanesville Patrol Officer, Vickers said there was no indication the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed.

Anitera was transported to Genesis Hospital. Before being transported, both Sharrer and Vickers said Anitera was responsive. Z.P.D. could not confirm the severity of her injuries.

Vickers would not confirm what citations, if any, will be issued.
