ZHS Holds Annual Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony
Zanesville High School held their annual induction ceremony for the Hall of Fame Sunday evening.
The event has been taking place for 8 years now and was open to the public. The individuals inducted were from past ZHS classes or other individuals. We spoke to Wayne Carpenter, President of the Hall of Fame committee who told us the requirements of being inducted.
"Well first of all they have to be nominated. Anybody or the community or the area can nominate people that they think are worthy and then we have a committee of 16 people who study their nominations and then vote on accepting them into the hall of fame."
52 people were in the running and 7 were chosen this year. Carpenter told us it is always important to show our recognition to outstanding individuals in our community.
"Well I think its very important because these people have started their education here in the Zanesville City Schools for the most part and they have gone on to do just wonderful things throughout not just our community but the nation itself."
The full list of individuals who were inducted into the Hall of Fame this evening can be found on our website at www.whiznews.com
Carpenter encourages you to nominate people. The due date to submit a nomination is December 1st. You can learn more about doing so on the Zanesville City Schools website: www.zanesville.k12.oh.us
