Perry County Homicide Investigated

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating a homicide. Lt. Kevin Starrett says on July 23rd deputies were called to 113 East Main Street in Corning regarding an un-responsive male lying in a parking lot. Deputies say 55-year-old Fred Fisher of Corning had been assaulted by 23-year-old Brandon Issac Keith of Glouster. Investigators say Fisher died Sunday at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. On July 24th, with the help of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team Keith was taken into custody without incident. He’s currently being held in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville on felony assault charges. Lt Starrett says that charge will likely be amended after its presented to a Perry County Grand Jury. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.
