Father-Son Sentenced On Drug Charges
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says a father and son charged in connection with drug trafficking are sentenced in Common Pleas Court. The duo was found guilty of two counts of trafficking in cocaine in August. Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced 22-year-old Robert Horton Jr. to 10 years in prison and a 10 thousand dollar fine. His dad was sentenced to five years in prison and must also pay a 10 thousand dollar fine. The Prosecutors’ Office says the two sold drugs to a confidential informant from the Zanesville-Muskingum County Drug Unit in April and were arrested after a long investigation into drug activity near homes on Pine and Baker Streets. The drug unit seized 120-thousand dollars in drugs during the raid. In all 7 people were arrested. The Horton’s made the fourth and fifth suspects to be sentenced from that case.
