The Y-Bridge Rug Hookers has their first ‘Hook-In’
The Y-Bridge Rug-Hookers honored one of their own at a ‘Hook-In’
The group hosted their first ‘Hook-In”at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church. A Hook-In is much like a Quilting Bee, except instead of making quilts, they hook rugs. Today the group honored Shirley Peters as their featured Rug-Hooker. Peters is one of their oldest members. She’s been hooking for nearly 27 years. She tell us, she is very humbled to be honored.
“Well it’s very humbling because, we have a very nice group and we have a lot of very good rug hookers. Excellent,” said Peters.
Linda Baughman, told us it’s been a dream for years to recognize Shirley’s longtime membership.
“Oh, it’s huge. We want to honor her while she is still alive and still enjoying the craft, so it’s kind of been a dream in growing to do this for Shirley,” said Baughman.
All the profits from today will benefit Transitions Domestic Violence Shelter in Muskingum County.
