Six local baseball players earn All-Ohio honors

Six local baseball players have landed on All-Ohio teams. In Division II, River View infielder Josh Bigrigg made the second team, and Sheridan’s Mike Gittings earned honorable mention accolades. In Division III, Fort Frye infielder Derek Layton made the first team while Ridgewood infielder Brice Hammond made the second team. And in Division IV, the pitcher-catch duo of Newark Catholic’s Caine Whitney and Mitch Lohr landed on the second team. The Green Wave plays Fort Recovery in the D-IV state semifinal Friday at 4 p.m. from Huntington Park in Columbus.
