Volunteers Needed to Assist with Safety Town
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – of Zanesville’s youngest residents will learn a few special safety-tips this summer.
The Carr Center in partnership with the Zanesville Daybreak Rotary is gearing up for 3 weeks of learning for children ages 4 and 5 years old. During the program the kids will focus on fire safety, gun safety, stranger danger tips and more. Executive Director, Kim Hosler said currently they are seeking volunteers for the weeks of June 27th and July 11th.
“We have opening for the preschoolers as well as the volunteers. In terms of volunteers what we’re looking for is any person that is aged 14 or older. It’s a great opportunity for kids that are out there this summer that are needing to get in some service hours or maybe their wanting to build their college resume,” said Hosler.
Hosler said each volunteer will receive hands-on training on how to properly work with the children, a skill they will carry on for the rest of their life.
“We will train them in terms of things that they need to know to work with the children. But, for the most part we’ll take them unlearned and uneducated and turn them into fabulous supervisors of small children,” said Hosler.
