Meet Mako, The Pet of the Week

Each week we like to feature a new furry friend as pet of the week.

Meet Mako, he’s a 10 year old Shih Tzu mix and was introduced to the Animal Shelter Society in the middle of April. Executive Director, Jody Murray said the small canine has a reduced adoption fee of $45 due to his age.

“Anyone looking for a nice little dog, he warms right up to you. I’ve had him out for about the last 10 minutes and you can see he warms right up to people and would make a wonderful little house companion for somebody,” said Murray.

Saturday the Animal Sheltor Society will host its annual ‘Paws -N- Claws’ Summer Jam. Murray said the event starts at 3 p.m at the Muskingum County Fair Grounds and is open to the public.

“Have a lot of things going on, a corn hole tournament at around 2 o’clock. We have two different dance groups coming in that will start around 3:30. There will also be a celebrity dunk tank, food trailers, a kissing booth, all kinds of activities,” said Murray.

Murray said the proceeds from the event will benefit the Animal Shelter Society.
