The United Way Releases the 211 Report for May

The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties 211 call center received 770 calls in the month of May.

Community Impact Director, Becky Clawson said according to the 211 report, the call center received a high volume of requests for rent and food assistance. These same request along with utilities have dominated the United Way’s 211 call report for over a year now. Something Clawson said they’re paying close attention to.

“Several are working with different agencies right now to identify some addition funds that can be put towards utilities assistance in our community and actually those talks were in the works through this week and next week, looking at some out of the box ways that we can fund this utilities assistance,” said Clawson.

Clawson said the United Way is also in need of volunteers to assist with 211 and their summer programs. Both of which you can receive information through the 211 call center.

“We always need volunteers and summer is such a great time to do that because you can do that as a family. The kids are out of school and everybody is looking for something to do. If you only have one day or one hour there’s an agency that needs your help,” said Clawson.

The 211 call center is available 24 hours day, seven days a week.
