Edgell signs with Fighting Scots

Morgan two-sport standout Mason Edgell will continue to compete on the hardwood and diamond at the next level.

Edgell signed with D-II Ohio Valley University for basketball and baseball, calling the dual commitment a “tough challenge” that he’s up for.

Based on his accolades in a Raider uniform, Edgell would be correct. He holds career records for three-pointers and strikeouts, proving his versatility from beyond the arc to the pitcher’s mound.

Edgell earned first-team All-MVL accolades in both sports this past season, making first-team All-East District in baseball and honorable mention All-Ohio in basketball.

The senior chose the FIghting Scots over  D-III schools Mount Union, Muskingum and Wilmington. Instead of the Ohio Athletic Conference, he’s bound for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Ohio Valley is located in Vienna, West Virginia–about an hour southeast of Morgan High School.
