ZANESVILLE, Ohio- John McIntire Library has partnered with the Convention and Visitors Bureau for a program called “Lunch and Learn.”

Library Assistant Director Blair Tom said during “Lunch and Learn” speakers talk about topics related to tourism and destinations on a larger scale and also features someone on the local level to promote and discuss a destination related to that topic.

“We have a program this Friday focused on Ohio Train [Disasters] a book written by Jane Turzillo,” Tom said. “Features an occurrence in the 1980s in Dresden, Ohio. So there we have the global, Ohio being global and local with Dresden. And we find area adults love to come together discuss or learn about a topic and ask questions and get answers.”

Tom said this program helps the community gain awareness of our local treasures while learning about destinations throughout Ohio.

“The ‘Lunch and Learn’ aspect of it allows area business people to come for an hour during lunch, have lunch hear a very interesting lecture and than return to their day also well,” Tom said.

Tom said it’s important for the library to continue to partner and team up with other organizations, because individually we can all do good things but collectively we in Muskingum County can do great things.
