Sheriff Lutz Investigates Sunday Shooting

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says an investigation is underway into a shooting incident at Briar Rabbit Shooting Sports at 2949 Granger Hill Road. The Sheriff says this past Sunday just after 2:00 in the afternoon his office received a call about a male that was shot in the chest during a shooting competition. Lutz says after a preliminary investigation it’s believed that the shooting was accidental, but the incident is still under investigation. The victim, whose name was not released, remains in stable condition at Genesis Hospital. The name of the shooter was also not released.
