32nd Annual Somerset Community Celebration

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Nearly 10,000 people came out to honor those who serve.

The Perry County Village of Somerset, Ohio held their 32nd Annual Community Celebration Saturday. The festivities kicked off at 11 a.m where the entire community was invited to watch the holiday parade coordinated by the American Legion Post #58. Followed by a number of fun activities that took place at Somerset Memorial Park.

"We give the community thanks in anyway that we can. They support us and we try to make sure they have an enjoyable day and we just appreciate everything they do to help support us and let us to be able to be able to do this for them," said Annette Moore.

Everything that took place at the celebration was free and open to the public.

"Everything is donations from the community and small businesses from the community. We don’t have any large corporate sponsors or anything like that and the community really supports us really well," said Moore.

The celebration ended with a fireworks show at 10 p.m at the Somerset Memorial Park.
