Maysville Middle School Students Suspended For Pills

Some Maysville Middle School students have been suspended after one student brought prescription drugs to school.  Superintendent Monte Bainter says a female student brought the pills to school on Tuesday and gave them to two friends.  Bainter would not say what type of prescription drug was brought to school. Bainter says school drug policy calls for first time offenders to be suspended for 10 days.  He says it could be reduced to five days if the students attended drug counseling.  He would not confirm the actual punishment the students received or release their names since they are juveniles.  Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says one of his deputies found out the pills were vicodin, But added there would be no charges since the school district was handling the issue in-house.
