Sunday’s Rally on the Steps of the Courthouse
As the presidential election gets closer, we’re bound to see more political rallies…
Sunday the Tea Party held its 4th annual Rally on the Steps of the Courthouse in downtown Zanesville. Organizer Kay Clymer said the rally is all about educating people on the issues our country is facing.
"Our idea is for you, the royal you, the public to understand that this is your country. This is our country, and if we don’t do something, to keep it under the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, we’re not going to have a country," said Clymer.
Candidates for Muskingum County Commissioner Todd Sands and Eddie Brock both spoke and answered questions from the crowd. Clymer said the Tea Party wants people at the polls in November, regardless of the party to which they belong.
"You get out there and vote. And if it’s not necessarily what I want, you’re voting, and you’re showing, you’re doing something that you have a right to do because you live here in the United States…Yes, it’s very important."
Personhood Ohio was also present at Sunday’s rally.
