Longaberger to Vacate Basket Building

Longaberger To Vacate Basket Building

The basket-shaped building used by employees of the Longaberger Company for 20 years will be vacant by the end of the week as staff move to another location in Muskingum County. The Newark Advocate says Longaberger owes over 577-thousand dollars for the structure in Newark. Officials say the company has not paid taxes on the building since 2014. Licking County Treasurer Olivia Parkinson says interest and penalties will continue to mount whether or not the building is vacant. Parkinson says foreclosure has been on the table for some time, although county officials prefer to find a solution with Longaberger.
