Badges For Baseball

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville Police Department and Big Brothers Big Sisters are in a partnership with the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office to work together in the Cal Ripken Foundation’s “Badges For Baseball”.

“We teach the kids teamwork, honesty, and to encourage them to reach they’re full potential,” said Patrolman Chris Andrews, Zanesville Police Department.

Patrolman Chris Andrews said that its important that the police officers get out and interact with kids so they can build a good relationship with the law enforcement at a young age.

“You know a lot of these kids only have interactions with police officers when their parents are getting pulled over for a speeding ticket or some kind of law enforcement.”

He said that it’s important that they know that cops can help them out and are friendly too.
