Benefit Held to Support Tyler Miller

"Team Tyler" was back in action Saturday…

The Roseville Community Center held a benefit dinner for Tyler Miller. The 17-year-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma about two months ago.

"The money is for Tyler. There has been an account set up at Community Bank. There is one set up at Century National right now, but we have set up a separate account at Community that is for Tyler only," said Janie Conaway, who organized the benefit.

Miller will turn 18 in July and will be able to use the money as he sees fit. Miller’s family said he’s doing well, and they’re taking his recovery day-by-day.

"He’s had about 3 chemo treatments now, which he’ll follow up later on with radiation. And he’s doing really well, his vital signs are coming back," said Tom Miller, Tyler’s grandfather.

"I’m just very thankful for all the support. Not just with the money, but with all the support that we’ve had," said Tyler’s mother, Cristy Hawkins.

Raffles and door prizes contributed to the donation total as well.
