Maysville hosts wrestling tournament for suicide prevention

Saturday marked the first annual Pin Suicide Gable Connors Memorial Scholarship Tournament held at Maysville High School.
Wrestlers from across the region took part to show support for the 10th leading cause of death in America. The tournament is named in honor of head coach Shawn Connors’ son, Gable, who died by suicide in 2013.
The Gable Connors Memorial Scholarship Fund raised enough money for all of next year’s scholarships. Today’s tournament was also able to raise most of the money required for the 2017-18 season and a Maysville senior will also receive a scholarship.
