Pave the Way for Ava McCulloch
A community came together to support one little girl’s dream to walk…
Pave the Way for Ava McCulloch took place at the Guernsey County Fairgrounds Saturday. Three-year-old Ava suffers from Spina Bifida, making it difficult for her to walk on her own. Ava’s mother Jessica McCulloch said Ava has been receiving treatments to help with her condition.
"As far as Ava, we are returning to China in July for her second round of stem cell treatments. And we’re hoping this event will cover those treatments, plus raise a good amount for the foundation," said McCulloch.
The event featured a variety of vendors, games, pony rides and a petting zoo. Jessica said it’s been a difficult journey, but Ava has come a long way.
"We’re getting non-embryonic stem cell treatments… And Ava’s made so much progress and other families that have gotten them have made so much progress, and our foundation will be giving out grants for that as well."
Ten percent of all proceeds raised at Saturday’s event will go toward the Warrior Families Beating Spina Bifida Foundation.
