RISE Class Fundraiser For Emma Barry

Rise Class Emma Barry

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A Muskingum Recreation Center fitness class is making a difference for a local teen.

The MRC RISE class will be holding a fundraiser for Emma Barry tomorrow at 10 a.m. Emma Barry is a Rosecrans high school student who was involved in a serious car accident back in December. She is still recovering from the incident. The fundraiser is open to the entire community, and the minimum donation for the class is 5 dollars.

“She’s been at Children’s Hospital. She was in a coma to start with, but she’s making a lot of progress so far. So we’re just raising money to help her with medical bills, help with the family in any way that we can,” said MRC Personal Trainer, Sam Davis.

The RISE class is about restoring, igniting, standing, and empowering individuals with the tail end of the class series being about giving back to the community. The RISE team then agreed together they wanted to carry out a fundraiser for Emma and her family.

“But it was actually a group decision too. So RISE team and I came together at the very beginning in January asking you know, who really needs this. So like I said, RISE is all about giving back and who really needs it. And you know, the extensive treatment that she’s going through and what the family is going to need. Any amount that we can give back is just going to be awesome,” said Davis.

If you are not able to make the class, donations are still welcome. Just donate at the front desk of the Muskingum Rec Center, checks can be made to the Emma Barry fund.
