Big Brothers Big Sisters: Luau On The Lanes

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Friday is day two of Luau on the Lanes and there were plenty of smiling faces bowling at the Sunrise Strikes Bowling Alley.

The fundraiser has raised nearly fifty thousand dollars already, and
there is still one more day to go. Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive
Director, Jenni Masterson says the organization’s goal is to reach
$85,000.

“Today is the second day of our annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake our Luau
on the Lanes. We have today and tomorrow yet for bowling times and we
are really looking forward to another great evening. So far, we’ve made
$47,720 to our goal of $85,000 and all the money stays right here in
Muskingum, Guernsey, Morgan and Noble County,” said Masterson.

Masterson is expecting the turnout to be really great Friday evening
at the bowling alley. She says the money goes directly into helping pair
the children with mentors. Masterson also says it’s not about the
bowling, it’s about helping out children in the communities, and having
fun.

Masterson added “Bowl For Kids Sake is our biggest fundraiser of the
year and so we really count on that money to help support all of our
matches. We match one to one volunteers with kids that need help and
this supports that match, helps us do all the background checks, helps
us maintain match support and for our school based programs helps us
plan our activities.”

If you want to bowl, it is not too late to sign up. The minimum team
donation is $500. They’re looking for more teams to come for tomorrow.
