Model Railroad Spring Open House

Model Railroad Open House

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zane Trace National Trail Model Railroad Club hosted their Spring open house on Sunday.

The open house ran Saturday and Sunday for the entire community to come and check out. The purpose of the open house is to showcase to the public the train display and all the progress that has been made since the last open house. A new side has been completed in the display and they put a signaling system in as well. The signaling system helps direct the trains. They have also added more scenery.

“It just gives the chance for the public to come up and kind of check everything out and see our progress that we’ve made throughout the last year,” said Club President, Brian Harrier.

Harrier also said it’s good to have a hobby such as this, in order to have a stress reliever from things such as work. It is also a way to get together with those who share your interests. The club also has junior club members, and Harrier encourages the youth to become involved because they can acquire a lot of skills.

“We have quite a few junior members. We encourage the future of the hobby so we take them along and get them involved in running trains and even doing scenery things like that. That they might be interested in. It helps, they can do wood working, electrical work, things like that, kinda teach them those kinds of things,” he said.

The Model Railroad Club will have another two day open house in the Fall.
