ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zane State College’s annual fundraiser was in full swing Monday morning.

The 33rd annual Drive For Excellence golf outing took place at the Zanesville Country Club, and is one of two golf outing fundraisers Zane State College holds, the other being Afternoon Tee. The event involved a shotgun start, lunch, and awards. This year, there were twenty teams participating in the fundraiser, the most ZSC’s had for the event. ZSC Chief of Staff, Anthony Adornetto said the fundraiser gives Zane State College the opportunity to engage with the community.

“The golf outings used as a fundraiser is really just about continuing to keep your brand out there. And making sure that you’re spending time with the folks who are not only investing in the students today,” he said.

“What they’re doing is they’re investing on that student in the front end. And then often times they’re hiring them then on the back end,” Adornetto added.

100 percent of the net proceeds go to providing scholarships for Zane State students. Adornetto said their goal is to give the students the access of assistance for their education.

“And that’s what this money will go to. This one will go directly to the books and scholarships so the students have the little bit they need so they can finish and hopefully graduate,” he said.

Zane State College’s next golf outing fundraiser, Afternoon Tee, will take place on June 17th.
