County Commission Meeting Discusses Roseville Fees

Co Commission Roseville Fees

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The chaos and damaged homes left in Roseville after the tornado Monday evening, was in discussion at the County Commission meeting Thursday morning.

Chief Building Official, Jason Baughman, spoke with the Commissioners on the idea of waiving fees for homeowners in the Roseville area for inspections. The Building Department provides a service for AEP, inspecting residential homes when electrical service needs to be turned on. Baughman said they hope to relieve Roseville residents in need of that service from those fees.

“We charge for that service. And in this case, what we’d like to do is waive those fees so that people that are without power due to the storm don’t have an additional cost,” he said.

An exact number of the cost altogether is not yet known. Baughman also said another part of the discussion were the fees businesses could face for their damaged roofs. He hopes to waive for those inspections and just charge for processing fees as well.

“They’re on board with waiving the fees for those inspections. And they would like me to be as liberal as possible interpreting the fees for the rest of the work associated with this storm,” he added.

The Commissioners just want to make sure there are no liability issues for inspecting the residentials.
