2019 National Road Yard Sale Underway

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A traditional yard sale is taking on a larger scale than just the yard.
The 16th annual Historic National Road Yard Sale features 824 miles of roadside treasures. The yard sale runs through six states including Maryland, Missouri, and right here in Ohio. Community members can join in on the fun and the big sale that takes place along National Road otherwise known as US 40. You can find everything from antiques, collectibles, furniture, glassware, fresh garden produce, and more.
“It’s just kind of a nice, little fun treasure hunt. So you travel State Route 40, which of course is the first federally funded highway. And so that’s what makes this different and unique and prestigious,” said Vice President of Chamber of Commerce, Kelly Ashby.
The sale celebrates the historic by-way, and it gives communities the opportunity to participate in the one long event. The sale also draws in people from other areas.
“It’s just a great way to travel along the historic National Road. Remember again, that it was the first federally funded highway. And it’s a great way for little birds and little communities and little townships to do celebrations and just have some fun with the yard sale,” said Ashby.
The yard sale takes place from May 29th to June 2nd.
