9th Annual National Road Bike Show & Rib Fest
It was a perfect day for the 9th annual National Road Bike Show and Rib Fest.
The National Road Riders organization puts on the event every year, partnering with Cambridge Main Street.
Hundreds gathered in downtown Cambridge for a day filled with live music, food and an auction.
Road Riders President Keri Roe said the auction benefits both the city and area families in need.
"Their portion of the money will go the revitalization of the downtown, as far as the National Road Riders the proceeds that we earn will go to charities, needy families, children at Christmas, things like that. So we kind of keep or money close to heart as well and help our own community first and foremost," said Roe.
One of the top items up for auction this evening was a Saint Jude bike which was custom made by the crew from Orange County Choppers who appeared at the bike show with their sponsors from Window World.
Roe said the bike will benefit the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital and is truly a unique sight to behold.
"It’s not something that you’re going to get to see everyday, so having the bikes down here has been a real thrill for us," added Roe.
Roe added that planning for next year’s Bike Show is already underway and promises to be bigger and better than this year.
