Veterans Appreciation Weekend’s Hog Roast and Silent Auction

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Veterans Appreciation weekend is here, and the Veterans Appreciation Foundation is celebrating.
Veterans had free breakfast at the VFW Saturday morning, then the festivities continued on at Terry’s Tavern where they had a hog roast and a silent auction. For 7 dollars they receive a freshly made pulled pork meal. Veterans Appreciation weekend is a way for the Foundation to raise money for all the programs they have.
“It’s a fundraiser for all the veterans projects we do throughout the year like Honor Flight, Christmas for nursing home veterans, and anything veteran wise,” said President of Veterans Appreciation Foundation, Wayne Clark.
The Veterans Appreciation Foundation aspires to improve the quality of life for veterans in the area.
“It’s a very patriotic community, this County is patriotic. And we’re just feeding off that and then giving back to our community,” Clark said.
The veterans appreciation weekend continues on Sunday at Green Valley Golf Course for the veterans golf outing.
