YMCA Summer Day Camp For Kids Entering Grades K-8th

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you are searching for a way to get your kids up and moving this Summer season, check out the Muskingum Family YMCA Summer Day Camp.
The camp is for children entering Kindergarten through the 8th grade. Campers get the chance to participate in fun activities such as swimming to cool off, nature walks, reading, and even STEM activities.
“It’s really great for kids in the Summer to have things like reading and STEM because it really keeps up their academic abilities. And then we do a lot of physical activities, a lot of different games. This week is actually Olympic week so we’re working on teamwork and stuff like that,” said Camp Counselor, Kimberly Kelly.
Another benefit to the day camp is the fact that kids can be around their peers. Children are divided into the age appropriate groups with trained counselors, and they are able to enjoy many activities with their friends.
“So a lot of the kids come to camp to see their friends. A lot of them come from different schools so during camp time they get to see kids that they haven’t seen during the school year. And they get to hang out with them and do a lot of fun activities,” Kelly mentioned.
If your child would like to participate in the Summer day camp, you can register by visiting the YMCA office or giving them a call at 740-453-9622.
