Lorena Sternwheeler Reopens Next Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Lorena Sternwheeler is known to hold a variety of events in the Summer, but currently it is closed throughout the Fourth of July holiday.
Due to the high water levels on the River, all cruises have been cancelled through July 9th. Other factors have impacted the Lorena season as well such as minor repairs, touch ups, and routine maintenance. But the Lorena will resume cruises again Wednesday, July 10th.
“All of the repairs have been made. The cleaning has been done. The inspection will take place. And she will go back into the water and set sail on the might Muskingum,” said Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Kelly Ashby.
Ashby also said that lots of out of town guests visit the Lorena Sternwheeler making it a very popular attraction. So it is important to get the Muskingum County treasure up and running again.
“She really is a very, very popular destination for our out of town guests. And of course our locals definitely enjoy riding the Lorena Sternwheeler,” Ashby mentioned.
“We’ve had weddings, we have class reunions..so lots of fun activities take place on the Lorena Sternwheeler,” she added.
Themed cruise events such as the “Character Rides” and “Storytime” will be rescheduled. Make sure you check the Lorena Sternwheeler Facebook page to stay updated on those new dates.
