Waterline Repairs to Begin Tuesday In Zanesville
Water line repairs will leave some people without water Tuesday.
The Zanesville City Water Department began excavation work to replace a water valve at Riverside Park.
Public Service Director Mike Sims said the new water treatment plant will also undergo warranty work during the valve repairs.
"We anticipate about four or five hours but we posted it until about 3 p.m. just to be safe in case we get into any problems with a cracked pipe or joints that don’t want to fit back together," said Sims.
Some areas will be without water during the valve replacement. Those areas include Buckeye Drive, Lewis Drive, Carpenter Street, Arter Lane, Mitchell Avenue, Adamsville Road, Neil Avenue, Aurther Street, Wallwork Avenue, Howard Street, Russell Street, Granger Street and Coal Run Road.
Those on the south end of town, the downtown and Putnam Avenue areas may experience lower water pressure during this time.
Sims advises residents who will be affected by the water line work to plan accordingly.
"It will be shut down at 7:30 a.m. so, do what you need to do early in the morning, if you’re home all day I would set aside some water," added Sims.
Sims said that he does not anticipate a boil advisory to be issued as a result of the water line work.
