Z-ville Highway Patrol Post Commander Promoted

Lieutenant William M. Boyd was promoted to the rank of staff lieutenant by Colonel Richard S. Fambro, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Training Academy. Staff Lieutenant Boyd will transfer from his current assignment as the Zanesville Post Commander to serve as an assistant district commander at the Cambridge District Headquarters. Staff Lieutenant Boyd began his Patrol career in February 1997 as a member of the 128th Academy Class. He earned his commission in July of that year and was assigned to the Zanesville Post. He was selected as Post Trooper of Year three times. In 2005, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Marietta Post to serve as an assistant post commander. In 2007, he earned the Criminal Patrol Award. In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transferred to the Zanesville Post. Staff Lieutenant Boyd received a certificate in advanced leadership training from the Public Safety Leadership Academy (PSLA) in 2017. PSLA is an 11-week cohort-based leadership course offered by The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs in partnership with the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
