ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Amazing exhibitions at the Zanesville Museum of Art are still up and running for the community to enjoy.

The 74th Ohio Annual Exhibition features submitted artworks from artists all over Ohio. The exhibition is meant to celebrate both state and local artists, and also capture the essence of Ohio’s vibrant visual arts scene. The Luminous exhibit runs until August 3rd, and the Museum is encouraging everyone to check it out while it lasts. Luminous features the works of Columbus-based artist, Barbara Vogel. She blends photography with encaustic art, a technique using hot wax and pigments.

“We have some great shows going on with our exhibitions. We have “Luminous” which is a show by Barb Vogel. She is an encaustic artist. And so that is going to be here through this Saturday, August 3rd. And then in our Great Gallery, we have the 74th Ohio Annual Exhibition, that is going on through September 7th,” said ZMA Office Manager, Krysten Smart.

Some of the works of artists like Barbara Vogel and the artists featured in the 74th Annual exhibition can be purchased in the Museum Store. Smart said they encourage the community to view the variety of artwork the museum has to offer.

“We have a great collection of works, whether they’re temporary exhibitions or a lot of Zanesville history can be found here in the museum. We have the Ayers Gallery where we have some great older works. So it’s just a cultural hub of Zanesville that sometimes people are looking for something to do, don’t forget the Zanesville Museum of Art,” she said.

The Zanesville Museum of Art is open Wednesday through Saturday. For more information on all the museum exhibits, you can visit their website, www.zanesvilleart.org.
