Pet of the week: Hayes

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Today at the Animal Shelter Society, Congressman Bill Johnson was there saying hey to Hayes.
Hayes is a 1-year-old boxer mix, with a very sweet personality. Animal Shelter Society Board President, Stephanie Hill said it takes her a little bit to warm up to people, but once she does she is a great dog.
“She is really, really sweet , cuddly as we said. She is a little shy so when she meets someone new, she is a little taken back” Hill continued on to say “She has been with us here for a few days. She has been spayed, up to date on all of her shots, micro-chipped and she is a really sweet dog.”
This week is also, “Clear The Shelter Week.” at The Animal Shelter Society. Hill said that all cat and kitten adoptions are ten dollars. Adult dogs, as well as puppies are half off, while senior dogs are 25 dollars. Congressman Johnson said he is very impressed with the work the shelter does.
“It is a great operation. I would encourage the local community, if you love animals and especially if you’re looking for a pet, come down to visit. You will be impressed with what you see,” said Johnson.
The last day of Clear The Shelter event is tomorrow. If you have any question about Hayes or you’re interested in adopting her, Shelter employees suggest a meet and greet.
