Recovery Carnival at the Schultz at Cedar Ridge

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Schultz at Cedar Ridge hosted a Recovery Carnival Friday afternoon for its guests and the public.
The Recovery Carnival consisted of games, food, a bounce house, crafts, face painting, and prizes. The Schultz at Cedar Ridge Residential Services Director, Crystal Reynolds said this is an event to show people in recovery that you can have fun sober.
“There is a stigma that comes to recovery so I think this just shows them that there are people who care and you can have fun being sober. That is the important aspect of this, sobriety can be fun,” said Reynolds.
Reynolds said they have had events in the past. She expects between 100 and 125 people show up the cookout goes from 3 until 7. The event was free and open to the public.
“We are just trying to give back to the community, We actually just opened a new location in Morgan County and we have locations in Guernsey, Muskingum, Morgan, and we just want people to know we are here to help people and give back to the community,” Reynolds said.
Reynolds said this event is a good way for people to just let go of problems they have, and just have fun.
