ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Downtown Zanesville farmers market’s season is coming to end.

Wednesday is the final day of the season Downtown, and the community is encouraged to take advantage of the produce and items available at the farmers market. Tomorrow’s market runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the North 4th Street location. There will be live music, farm to table dinners, and artists from the Masonic Temple.

“The Wednesday market this year, this is our first year on 4th Street. So we did that because it’s a great opportunity with the area that it’s at, we’re right in the midst of several restaurants, we have the art from the Masonic Temple,” said Market Manager, Misty Josselyn.

“It’s just a great area in Downtown, there’s plenty of parking, so it’s worked out wonderful for us this year,” she added.

Vendors will be selling locally grown produce, homemade salsas, meat, and eggs. Josselyn also said that farmers markets are a great way to get healthier options and support local farmers.

“The average food travels 1,000 miles from field to grocery store. So this way, it’s coming right out of your backyard, you know exactly where it’s coming from. You can talk to the farmers, know the people that are harvesting your food. It’s just a great opportunity to get fresh, local food and help our farmers and our community,” she said.

The Muskingum County Fairgrounds farmers market will continue on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon until October. Then the Fall farmers market will pick up again at Weasel Boy Brewing on Saturdays in November and December.
