Eastside Community Ministry’s Mum Sale

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local organization is selling a popular Fall flower for a good cause.

Eastside Community Ministry is holding their fourth annual mum sale. The mums come from the McDonald’s Greenhouse, and are typically used in the Fall season to decorate pumpkins and as part of an autumn container display.

“This is an easy fundraiser, people are decorating for Fall and so we can sell them mums and we even deliver. Or you can pick them up here in our gardens, so you get to visit our garden and learn more about that as well. So this is just an easy fundraiser for us to benefit Eastside and McDonald’s Greenhouse,” said Executive Director for Eastside Community Ministry, Jamie Trout.

Trout said that the proceeds from the mum sale will go towards the everyday programs Eastside provides for the community.

“We are all about supporting locally so this benefits McDonald’s Greenhouse and Eastside. So you’re helping two local organizations at the same time.”

“Our everyday programs are our food pantry, clothing bank, emergency relief services, and our year-long youth program,” she said.

To order the mums, you can stop in at Eastside Community Ministry from Monday through Thursday or you can give them a call at 740-452-7519. The order form is also available on the Eastside Facebook page. The final day to order is Tuesday, September 3rd.
