ODOT Planning Reconstruction of I-70 Through Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – I-70 through downtown Zanesville is in the crosshairs of a major reconstruction effort by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Preliminary plans are to completely rebuild the I-70 bridges over the Muskingum River and close down two underpasses in downtown Zanesville. The state is also asking to abandon an overpass of a railroad track just east of Sunrise Center.

A project specialist presented plans to local leaders and business owners at John McIntire Library in downtown Zanesville Thursday afternoon. ODOT is asking for written statements about the project to be submitted for the next thirty days.

The deadline for submitting written comment is October 5.
