COSCHOCTON COUNTY, Ohio – Shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the Coschocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call to an injury accident.

Upon arrival it was determined 75 year old, Daniel E. Spees and 76 year old Karen Spees, both from Massillon, Ohio, were driving a 2016 Harley Davidson three-wheel motorcycle eastbound on SR 541 just east of SR. 60 south. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a sandstone block. Both passengers were thrown off the motorcycle. They were not wearing helmets. At the scene was Walhonding Valley Fire Department, Coshocton County EMS, Med Flight, REACT and Prince’s Wrecker Service. It is believed that the driver may have had a medical situation that was the contributing factor in the accident.

Karen Spees was transported from the scene by the Coshocton County Squad to Genesis Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition. Daniel Spees was flown from the scene by Med Flight to The Ohio State University Hospital, where he is listed in Critical Condition. The accident remains under investigation.
