U-S 22 Accident Investigated

The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol says a three car accident shut down U-S 22 near Thompson Run Road today.  Troopers say 43-year-old Eileen Mount of East Fultonham was traveling east on 22 and was unable to stop and struck a vehicle waiting to turn left onto County Road 99. That vehicle was driven by 21-year-old Trey Wetstone of Mt. Perry.  The Patrol says Mount’s vehicle then crossed the center line and struck another vehicle traveling west on 22.  That vehicle was driven by 40-year-old Chad Bonifield of Zanesville.  Troopers cited Mount with failure to maintain assured clear distance.  There were no serious injuries reported. U-S 22 reopened shortly after troopers cleared the scene.
