Spargrove Beats Rain and Field to Win Seniors’ Classic

With a birdie on his final hole, the par-3 18th, Jim Spargrove overtook Don Denman to win his fourth Zanesville Seniors’ Classic on Wednesday afternoon at Zanesville Country Club.  Spargrove is the first back-to-back winner of the event since Norman Ogilvie completed the feat in 2007 and 2008.  After a front nine 36, Spargrove came home in 33, adding birdies on the par-3 12th and par-4 16th to go with his birdie on the 18th.  Rick Macklin, who along with Spargrove started the day one off the lead, bogeyed his final hole to finish in third.  Below are the results of the tournament based on age brackets using gross and net scores.
