Pets Search for Homes at Upcoming Zanesville Event

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, PetSmart will be having an adoption event with agencies throughout the area.

Cats, dogs and other animals available for adoption will try to find their forever families.

Michelle Armstrong the customer engagement leader for the store says there will be plenty of animals available during the event.

“This coming up weekend, we have our national adoption weekend. So it’s a great time to come find a new furry companion. We, of course, will have cats. We have some here right now. We’ll have them through the week and even more during the weekend. We’re partnering with some of our adoption centers like star’s connection… The Animal Shelter Society will be here with some dogs. Our last adoption weekend they were even able to bring a bunny. So you may even be able to see some different animals other than the normal cats and dogs”

Just like people will come into the store to look for their animal — the animals will be looking for their people.

“They are super sweet and they’re just looking for people who can love them and rescue them,” says Armstrong.

She says getting a pet isn’t just any other purchase. Adoption lets you meet your newest friend.

“Adoption is absolutely wonderful — also because you are getting a lifetime friend with it — you know? They’re going to be with you. They’re going to be home to greet you everyday that you come home. It’s not just another purchase. This is one that will truly love you back.”
