Maysville Band Boosters Holiday Bazaar

Holiday Bazaar

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Christmas is just around the corner and area
organizations are offering local, handmade gifts to put under the
tree this year. The Maysville Local School District Band Boosters
held their annual Holiday Bazaar today; with booth rental costs and
concession stand sales directly benefiting the band program. Joy
Wigal, Holiday Bazaar Coordinator, says unique items are available at
the event each year.

“We have over 130
vendors from around the Muskingum County area. Everything from folks
that are selling Avon, or Mary Kay, or Thirty-One products to
crafters that re-purpose materials; make items out of wood, or baked
goods—lots of really good baked goods. And, some really creative
ideas that are great gifts.”

The Holiday Bazaar
raises nearly 3,000 dollars to help support 180 Maysville band
students in 5th through 12th grade each year.
Patrick Murphy, Band Director, says the funds help provide students
with uniforms and other supplies.

“We have an
excellent band booster organization that supports our kids. It’s
events like this band bazaar and our contest that we host that
provide the funds—our uniforms, instruments, music—it just
supplements the school education and the needs that we do in the
classroom on a daily basis.”

Maysville Local
School District has been holding the annual Holiday Bazaar for over
two decades.
