Commissioners Back Muskingum Valley Health
The Muskingum County Commissioners have issued a letter of support to the Muskingum Valley Health Center.
Chief Executive Officer Dan Atkinson met with the commissioners to discuss the progress the center has made over the past year. He said the new facility on Adair Avenue meets the specific needs of its patients.
"It’s been great," said Atkinson. "We’ve had some patient growth ever since we opened up the new facility. We have all services under one roof right now, so we have the adult medical primary care as well as pediatrics, dental health services and mental health services are now located in one single location."
Atkinson said the center is beginning its grant writing process with the goal of becoming a Federally Qualified Health Center. He said the center will continue to reach out to the entire community.
"If anyone is looking for a primary care medical home, we definitely offer that service," said Atkinson. "It doesn’t matter what pay source you have, if you’re uninsured or if you have Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance, our main goal is to provide access to primary care services to the community."
The center’s website is under construction, but if you’re interested in more information, you can call the Zanesville office at (740) 891-9000.
