Kids combine creativity, Christmas at Zanesville museum

Zanesville Art Museum Family Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – On Saturday, families and their children could attend the Zanesville Art Museum Family Day.

Education Coordinator Misty Johnson says getting creative can help relieve stress and boost problem solving skills.

“Here at the art museum we definitely believe that art can positively affect or influence every single person. Not just kids. So this time of year especially, engaging in creative activities can boost creativity, it can boost creative problem solving skills, critical thinking, but research also shows is a huge stress reliever.”

Kids had the chance to try out different art projects and even had the chance to see if they’re on the nice list.

“We have three different art making stations. We’re making paper, we’re making ornaments and homemade holiday cards but then there’s also a fun scavenger hunt activity. We also have a story time we’re going to be having a reading of a classic Italian Christmas folk story. So that’s going to be a lot of fun. And we also have Santa Claus with us today.”
