College Football Playoff Party will Benefit United Way

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – As the Ohio State Buckeyes prepare to take on
Clemson in just 11 days, a local organization is partnering with an
area restaurant and bar to raise funds for community programming. The
United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties and The Barn in
Zanesville are hosting a watch party event on December 28. Kyle Dunn,
United Way Resource Development Director, says all raffle and 50/50
proceeds will benefit the local United Way.

“United Way is
going to be at The Barn to do 50/50 and actually some raffle
giveaways. During the Wisconsin game, we there were some signs; there
were some koozies that we raffled off. So, it’s just a fun time all
the way around.”

The United Way
strives to improve community conditions through its many local
programs; such as 211 and various school readiness programs.

“We have three
main pillar goals: in health, financial stability, and education. And
we have goals—community goals—in all three of those regions that
we try to achieve; such as reducing food insecurity, raising
graduation rates, those sort of things.”

The College Football
Playoff Party will be held at The Barn in Zanesville on December 28
beginning with the LSU vs. Oklahoma game at 4 PM. The United Way
raffle and 50/50 drawing will take place during the OSU vs. Clemson
Playoff Game beginning at 8 PM.
