Cleaning Your Ride For Free

Residents had a chance to get their wheelchairs washed and inspected on Saturday.

Northside Oxygen and Medical Equipment hosted a free wheelchair cleaning and inspection. Staff inspected the chairs and gave estimates for anything that needed fixed or replaced, to be done right in the store.

"We can do all the repairs here for them we have a warehouse that we have all those parts and ability to do any adjustments or anything for them," said store supervisor Ed Guy.

There were refreshments and door prizes including back cushions for wheelchairs and a portable aluminum wheelchair ramp. The annual event was created in an effort to show the importance of wheelchair inspections.

"Maintaining equipment is like any equipment you have, the more you maintain it the longevity and the better use you can get out of it," said Guy.

Customers also had a chance to ask questions about medical equipment while browsing the store.
