Sy scores 20 points to lead Ole Miss past SE Louisiana 83-76

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Khadim Sy scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting as Mississippi held off Southeastern Louisiana 83-76 at Mississippi Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.
Sy also grabbed seven rebounds, had one blocked shot and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. His dunk with 50 seconds left put Ole Miss up 80-72 to seal it.
SE Louisiana led 34-30 with just under four minutes left in the first half, but Ole Miss ended the half on a 12-6 run to take a 42-41 lead at halftime. The Rebels opened the second half with a 13-7 run over eight minutes, extending their lead to 55-48.
Blake Hinson added 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3 for 7 from behind the arc, along with five rebounds for the Rebels (8-3). Point guard Devontae Shuler chipped in 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting. He dished out six assists, grabbed four rebounds, blocked two shots and also had two steals. Breein Tyree scored 14 points.
Ole Miss is now 19-0 all-time against Southeastern Louisiana.
The Rebels have won three straight after losing three of four at the end of last month.
Tyron Brewer had a game-high 30 points on 13-of-17 shooting and also had six rebounds for SE Louisiana. He had 17 points in the first half.
There were four lead changes, all in the first half, and the game was tied seven times.

Southeastern Louisiana: After making 7 of 8 3-pointers in the first half the Lions were held to just three 3-point shots in the second half. The Lions were also just 2 of 5 from the free throw line after halftime.
Ole Miss: The Rebels scored 28 points off turnovers.
